When my wife and I decided to sell our home in Newmarket, we interviewed agents from the major real estate agencies in the area such as Royal Lepage, Sutton Group and Re/Max.

When I began my search for my new home in Newmarket in late July 2009, I met Linde Black. Throughout our quest, Linde showed a thorough knowledge of real estate protocol and presented that knowledge in a completely professional manner. The process began with a telephone call during which Linde Black established my needs: choice of area, type of residence and price range. This knowledge was evidenced during several excursions which involved four to six viewings, each of which had required appointments and confirmations. To ensure our time was effectively spent, the excursions required an itinerary which was well planned and all the appointments were attended without mishap.
Additionally, my new home was being sold by three people who, during the selling period were spread over central Canada, making the process of signing and acknowledging waivers complicated. Since I was also selling my Toronto home to people from the West Coast, the meeting of sales dates, closing dates and other miscellaneous dates was incredibly complicated. Ms. Black was continuously at the ready with all necessary paperwork throughout that week-and-a-half. Without Ms. Black's attention to detail and being constantly available, my purchase, in all likelihood, would not have been successful.
Also, what made the whole process bearable was Linde Black's sense of humour and fun.

"In our opinion, Linde is the perfect agent."
This past spring/summer of 2009, my house-mate and I were looking to buy a house (within a limited price range) with a separate semi-completed basement apartment for myself, that we could finish on our own.
Linde Black was our agent.
Although Linde showed us some houses that came close, there were always obstacles: bidding wars which were lost; or main and upper floors that were very acceptable, but basements that needed too much work or were bleak, dungeon-like and depressing.
At about the 10th house visit, I didn't really see much hope and I was getting quite despondent. I also thought we were becoming terrible clients, and I told Linde so.
She looked at me, smiled and said: "Don't worry! We'll find you a house!"
Even though the whole exercise of house-hunting was extremely stressful, Linde stayed calm and diplomatic, maintained a cool professional attitude, gently stuck to the issues, made all the necessary arrangements, contacts, etc., was always on time for our house visits, and prepared to answer any questions. Those she could not answer were promptly answered the next day! She certainly did her homework!
Did she finally find us a house? Yes! (A nice two-storey in a quiet neighbourhood, a few minutes north of Newmarket.)
In our price range? Yes!
Was the basement suitable? Absolutely! No need to finish anything (full kitchen and two bathrooms). More than I needed.
House hunting is no walk in the park! Linde's up-to-the-minute knowledge of the market and understanding of our personal needs steered us in the right direction so as not to waste our time and energy.
In our opinion, Linde was (and is) the perfect agent -- very professional with the necessary good sense of humour needed in times of house-hunting stress.
